Fall Food, Fall Ride

Same food over and over, but the trees are always changing.
Coconut yogurt breakfasts with a variety of toppings:

here, with dried white mulberries and canned pumpkin

and here with drizzled cashew butter, chopped dried figs, and wheat bran
Bought three sweet potatoes and chopped and roasted them up to have for lunches throughout the week. I ate this at least 4 times this week, and can't remember what the 5th day was:

spinach, tempeh, roasted sweet potato with hummus dressing.
Dinners have been the rest of Isa's Dilly Stew, getting less and less attractive as the days passed but tasty as ever:

All good, filling food for increasingly chilly bike rides. Most recently to my favorite forest.

Hope you all are well, and enjoying the fall.

  1. Artsy breakfast bowls. Tidy forest. You gonna only be blogging once a week now, cuz if so, I have issues with that.

    1. I'm in defense of once/week (or more) blogging. I'm slacking myself!

    2. It would be very boring if I blogged any more often. Also I am trying to keep busy in ways that do not involve me sitting in front of a computer screen.
But things might change, we'll see.

    3. You can always sit in front of the television screen.

    4. I don't have a TV! I'm trying to avoid cathode rays and radiation in all forms! No Bachelor for me.

    5. OMG! if ever there was a season of The Bachelor to watch, it will be the one that starts in January. Maybe someone will give you tv for xmas so you can watch.

  2. Breaksfasts do look artsy! What coconut yogurt do you like? I swear I've tried most non dairy yogurts out there...haven't like one enough to rebuy. I'm also a fan of the roast a big batch of veggies school of thought.
Ha! That soup does look tragic! Dumplings just don't hold up well- but if its yummy who cares.
What a great bike ride! I just left a mega comment on the prev post about biking when cold...

    1. This was SoDelicious. It's thinner than I like, and more expensive than soy but I think I'd rather not eat the soy. If that doesn't bother you, WholeSoy & Co is pretty good, and has a lot of flavors.
      Thanks for the biking tips!

  3. Wow! Such beautiful shots from your bike rides. I am so envious!

I have some canned pumpkin, and your use of it in coconut yogurt sounds good! Nice looking sweet potato salad!

    1. It was rainy at first, but a gorgeous day later. The sun coming through the sparsening leaves and the smell of dirt... loved it. We don't have the majestic beauty of CO, but it's pretty nice sometimes :)

  4. Your bowl meals match the color of the forest :) Nice woods to ride through.

  5. I'm guilty of cooking in ridiculously large quantities, but by leftover day 3 I'm over it.

    1. I hear that. I need more friends to feed.

  6. I love leftovers. I typically make meals that serve 4 and then eat the leftovers every day for 4 days. It means I only have to cook a couple times each week to have plenty of food for lunches and dinners.

    1. I would prefer to make TWO meals at the beginning of the week and switch em up throughout. But whatever, it is nice to have something made that you don't have to think about.

  7. Those coconut yogurt brekkies look AMAZING! I love a good topping.

And that forest is *beautiful*! Glad you're enjoying some fall bike rides and nature!

    1. It's all about the toppings! Had a bowl with goji berries and oats too that I guess I forgot to photograph.
There's probably more nature in Boston, and the leaves are only just changing here, but it's such a nice break from manhattan.
