Salad, as per usual: spinach, carrot, mushroom, avo, broccoli, tofu hidden somewhere under there. Later topped with miso-tahini dressing (thickened up with hummus too cuz I added too much water)
Overnight oats with water, not enough almond butter, blueberry jam
Lentils, roasted beets, raw broccoli. With cayenne, cumin, salt, and ACV. Not entirely tasty. Shoulda cooked the broccoli.
Miso in the daytime. Spinach, carrot, mushroom, tofu. Keeping it simple.
Banananananananas.
Lentils, spinach, Japanese yam, carrot. Added Braggs after this photo.
And lemon water with lotsa gojis.
Very colorful and healthy food!
ReplyDeleteThat's a strange flavor for the Vega. Is it supposed to be just a neutral flavor?
The soup looks so perfect and delicious. When you put goji berries in drinks, do you eat them after you're done drinking or just swallow them down with the drink?
Haha, I don't know! That's funny - I didn't think about what blending a "neutral flavor" into water would taste like. Apparently, it tastes...neutral.
DeleteAs for the goji berries, I chew them as I swallow, if that makes sense? There are usually a couple left over at the end of the drink and then I just eat them. Those ones are the best because they've plumped up the most at that point.
Beautiful looking meals! Your salads are always so pretty and I have some Oh, Natural Vega too I've never tried. Glad to know at least the flavor isn't that strong. Love the miso soup, it looks perfect!
ReplyDeleteThe Oh Natural stuff would probably be fine blended into a smoothie. It's good to have around.
DeleteI have been spending way too much money at Whole Foods lately! Ack! Must stop! Lovely salads, as usual, and those are some serious mushroom chunks in the miso soup.
ReplyDeleteYeah, super mushroom power. I usually use dried shiitakes in my miso soups but these were around, and so.
DeleteYumsies on pretty much all of this! I always want Vega powders to be better than they are. Kind of a bummer, but I still like Brendan Braizer.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I do too. Sometimes I force myself to think I like something. Kinda dumb.
DeleteI second Molly re the swallowing vs chewing question. Does this mean you're finally venturing into the apartment kitchen? Cool looking Japanese Yam.
ReplyDeleteI make the goji drink first thing in the morning before people are awake! No face time!
DeleteIf you can find one of those yams (prob at WF) they're really good. I like them more than sweet potatoes I think.
I have to say, your DIY food looks way fresher and better than WF. And as you say, it's cheaper.
ReplyDeleteWell, thanks. I can control the lighting too :) That helps.
DeleteWell, I would eat everything in this post and be very happy about it. I prefer my broccoli steamed, though. And I hate it when I add too much water to my dressing. Happens all the time.
ReplyDeleteI need to get some goji berries. I just saw a recipe for goji chili. And I want to put some in my lemon water.
I've tried all the Vega flavors except natural. Guess I didn't miss much :)
I've found I most like my broccoli raw, but wilted in oil and salt, kinda like raw kale salad.
DeleteGood looking meals there! The lentil and japanese sweet potato looks like a great combo- i found them in chinatown crazy cheap and bought like 5lbs a while back. . I always buy/love the vanilla almondilla vega and mix with almond milk, the neutral is probably good for mixing with juice?
ReplyDeleteMiso is always a good call, the more stuff in it the better!

I would grab any and all Japanese sweet potatoes I could if I didn't have to lug 5 lbs back home with me! Still have to get to Chinatown markets, though.
DeleteGoji drink = mind blown. Makes a lot of sense. I'm going to get me some of that. And all those salads in a great big nosebag. Whole Foods who?
ReplyDeleteHa! I have a cowl that I wear in the winter (though I seem to have lost it...) and sometimes being the slob I am, drop lunch in there accidentlly. That basically is like attaching a feed bag, hahah.
