Mardi Gross

Orange juice, lime seltzer, apple cider vinegar, goji berries:

Later, at work, Hazelnut chocolate Raw Revolution bar, Gorilla coffee (with added almond milk), orange.

Lunch was more Caesar salad. There's romaine and seitan under there, trust me. I brought the dressing to work in a spice jar. I used about 1/3 of it.

Snack x 2 by Emmy's. I gave the last one to a friend OR ELSE I WOULD DIE (by eating it.)

Dinner salad.

Spinach, carrots, jalapeno kraut, tomatoes, sunflower seeds, avocado, miso-tahini dressing. Seeing as how it's Fat Tuesday, I had to get my healthy fats in.
Far, far too many dried apricots (14 but who's counting?) for dessert, as well as this chai tea (spiked with coffee and now I will never sleep again.)

Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday so I am juice fasting. Good thing I ate so damn much today. A bear could live off of my Fat Tuesday for the entire winter.

  1. Allow me to preface this comment with my initial reaction to your post title: I laughed aloud. Loudly.

However, I see nothing gross about your eats. ;) I didn't enjoy a proper Fat Tuesday - maybe I can get in a Fat Wednesday tomorrow? Ha!

    1. The food itself wasn't gross but I feel like I ate way too much of it. Not a good feeling. I hope you got yr Fat Wednesday in.

  2. I agree with all of Ingrid's sentiments. I laughed my ass off very loudly at your post title. Absolutely hilarious.

I also don't think there is anything gross about your meals. It actually looks like a really healthy day of meals chock full of veggies, healthy fats and healthy treats. I think you navigated "fat" tuesday really well. I'm going to miss oranges when I start the ACD.

    1. Oranges have been stellar this year. When do you start the cleanse?

    2. Hoping to start within the next week or two. Just trying to finish up all of my fruit. AKA all of my forbidden food, wah!

  3. Yeah, your meals are anything but gross. I would eat all of it in a second. Except I would probably go for all three cookies and the entire jar of dressing. Those cookies look really, really good. I like your beverage with the OJ and ACV. And, mmmmm dirty chai, yummmm :)

    1. It's cruel to make a cute tiny package of three cookies and call one a serving!
The dirty chai was the highlight of my night.

  4. Damn, more like healthy Tuesday! (In a good way.) I'm super envious of that salad--need to make a big one for dinner tonight, I'm thinking. Good luck with the juice fast!

    1. Thanks, I did not woozily fall onto the train tracks, which was my goal.

  5. Transporting dressing in its own little jar is totally the secret to decent salad for work lunch! I always used tiny tupperware, but a spice jar sounds perfect. Man, now I really want a gigantic salad of my own. :)

    1. I find the spice jars leak less than tupperware. Plus my roommate saves EVERYTHING so I had to find a use for some of the random jars!

  6. I like that you used a spice jar for the dressing. Great idea! Your orange juice drink sounds fantastic. I've got to try mixing some stuff up like that.

For some reason I have a hard time not eating too many dried apricots when they're in front of me. They're so damn good!

    Great post title, btw. :)

    1. The orange drink is fabulous. Really refreshing. And yes! Apricots are the hardest to stop eating! They are chewy and sweet! Oh man.

  7. Crap - I forgot it was shrove tuesday! I meant to get all healthy from today onwards nd totally blew it with a cookie and truffle frenzy. Your salads are giving me the guilts. I'd have taken your spare macaroon! I'm selfless that way!

    1. I could go for a truffle frenzy right now!
I wish you had been there to take the macaroon. I basically had to thrust it at my friend, and I was afraid he wouldn't want it! (Luckily he did.)

  8. Your post inspired me to go get a piece of chocolate. Maybe you said the word "fat" too many times and I was compelled to obey. I wish I'd been inspired to eat salad instead but the chocolate was sure good! The dressings do look tempting, though.

  9. Gosh, if you think this is a Fat Tuesday, then I must've had a Morbidly Obese Tuesday.

  10. Gross?! Hardly. If only everyone were so 'gross'.

    1. Okay, cookies and chocolate snack bars for breakfast for everyone! And sweetened tea and coffee right before bedtime all the time!
