Typical

Pre-breakfast. I'm sort of having a hard time eating early in the mornings these days, even though I get kinda sick taking vitamins on an empty stomach.

Breakfast, in two parts. First the juice. The Bosc pear was eaten around 11.

SSSalad for lunch. (Spinach, Squash, Sriracha + hemp seeds)

Dinner was miso soup. Hijiki, carrot ribbons, shiitake mushrooms, tofu, spinach + anise seeds, red pepper flakes, sesame seeds. You know the drill.

Unpictured, a small bag of pistachios as a snack around 1 and Justin's Dark Chocolate peanut butter cups for dessert.
Still to come, red wine with my bud. Can't wait to stain those teeth.
See, it's just like I never left!

  2. Such an exemplary day! I won;t even tell you what I ate.

Speaking of red wine, it really, REALLY stains my tongue. For days. Does this happen to you? I feel like a Chow dog.

    1. The pb cups were a little much BUT... worth it.
Hmm maybe you are drinking higher class wine than I am. my lips turn purple for the night but that's about it, thank goodness. I'm cracking up at the Chow dog comment though!

  3. Vitamins on an empty stomach, yeah, I know what you're talking about - it hurts. Is it because of the cold that your appetite is reduced?

Miso soup will definitely be making a comeback in my diet. As in, today. ;)

Thanks again for the photobucket suggestion!

    1. I'm not sure, really! I feel like I usually eat more when it's cold. Right on with the miso soup. It's so perfect.
Glad to see the picture problem was righted!

  4. It is like you never left, except for the food is now pictured on actual counter tops instead of radiators, ironing boards and discarded building materials.

As a longtime guzzler of red wine, here's a tip: you can just wipe off your teeth with a paper towel/paper napkin. As for the tongue stains, that requires a tongue scraper. You're all welcome.

    1. Haha yes I forgot to mention I used to live in a construction site.
Thanks for the tip! I will be trying that many a time, I'm sure.

  5. Oh boy, I got totally ill and threw up once when I took big ass vitamin on an empty stomach. It was a capsule too which I think made it worse: my stomach thought "what is this foreign object doing here? Must get it out." I don't take multivitamins anymore, just B-12 packets twice a week. My doctor is after me to take calcium, but it really constipates me. She also gave me a prescription for a massive dose of vitamin D, but I haven't refilled in a while, just because I'm still in cost cutting mode.

But enough about me... I'm really coveting that miso soup. Anise seeds, huh? Interesting idea. I definitely need to make some miso soup soon.

  6. Yeah, I'm not great at keeping up with my vitamins either but I figure it's better than nothing.
The anise seed is definitely not traditional but I really like it a lot.
