Two Asian Dinners

As I run off to G's band's show tonight, here's last night's and tonight's dinners:


Yesterday was udon noodles in a bit of miso broth with steamed broccoli, edamame, and mushrooms with chopped garlic and ginger. Easy and super tasty. I just need to buy some srirhacha!


And tonight, obviously take out, but tasty - brown rice rolls with spinach, avocado, and cucumber.

  1. Both meals look delicious! Those sushi rolls look perfect and the udon dish is totally inspiring me to actually make Alicia Silverstone's fried udon dish that I've been putting off forever! Except I'll use rice noodles because udon is a no-no :(

  2. I think I could eat an udon noodle bowl for at least one meal every day. Yours looks delicious, it's making me want to go out and buy some udon. I like to put toasted black sesame seeds on top, partly because they look pretty and partly because they taste good.

  4. Oh yum! Those sushi look so much more interesting than the standard fare I can get around here... Getting pretty sick of plain old cucumber rolls, I must say.

    Andrea, I don't know that I've ever seen black sesame seeds but I would imagine it'd be a striking contrast.

    Hannah, yeah, I picked them up at a health food store here that has a decent sushi bar/deli counter. Avocado always takes cucumber up a notch.
